Headwind

The world is getting better, year by year (see data):
Then why Trump, why Brexit, why the resentment and hate, why xenophobia, why anti-globalism?
Answer: headwind. Improvement is change, and change makes ill-adapted people insecure.
It's the revolt of the "Precariat" .
Note that it's a revolt, mostly, of people that are *older* and *less-educated* than others.
They have a real reason for their resentment - though they draw the wrong conclusion  from that reason.

It's not that people are less needed as the world changes! Quite the opposite.
Innovation creates countless new problems: people who can fix them are  desperately  needed, there is never enough of them. Only those people who are stuck in the past are less needed...

Solution: UNIVERSAL LIFELONG EDUCATION.

Tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis.
All people must learn and  keep  learning - must, first of all, learn to learn.
Governments must join forces with corporations and the Academia to retrain a new workforce for new times. The expenditure will pay for itself a hundredfold.
